In Expo 2020’s framework, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) aims to organise a week that celebrates creativity and incentivises innovation. Among the programmes realised by Expo 2020 Hungary are the Agency’s fashion and design events, during which visitors from all around the world can get to know the Hungarian fashion industry and its outstanding talents.
During the events in November, Hungarian fashion designers – ABODI, Elysian, Kata Szegedi, Katti Zoób, Maison Marquise, MERO, and Sentiments – debut first at a banquet, then in front of many fashion and design industry professionals, international press, distributors, and influencers at the runways of the Budapest Select Fashion Show. The goal of the collective fashion show is to enable fashion brands to present the culture and traditions of Hungary to the visitors in a unique manner.
Afterwards, to take a closer look into the fashion industry, on the 10th of November, the HFDA invites those interested to a roundtable discussion, during which female leaders of different countries’ creative industries share their personal thoughts and experience regarding the road to success. The participants, Zsófia Bata-Jakab, the CEO of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency; Camille Boyer, the co-founder of the Austrian Fashion Association; Daria Marusyk, Head of Communications and Sustainability at Ukrainian Fashion Week are going to discuss the topics mentioned above with fashion journalist, Emese Dobos.
