Young fashion and product designers created unique gifts for charity

As the holidays are approaching, the Hungarian Interchurch Aid’s Advent fundraiser shop shelves are filling up with unique mugs and textile bags. We can help those in need by purchasing them on the feast of love. You can find the objects designed by young fashion and product designers, especially for the Christmas campaign, in the fair near Basilica between the 3rd and the 23rd of December. The entire amount from sales will be given to support the organisation’s everyday work.

Since its foundation in 1991, the Hungarian Interchurch Aid has helped those in need and the destitute as an expanding community of professionals, volunteers, donators, and responsible corporate partners. The organisation has carried out aid programmes in 40 countries with 400 colleagues helping people in need worldwide.

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency joined the organisation’s love.hunger (szeretet.éhség) campaign to support the good cause with a tender for fashion and product designers. The task was to create a graphic design that depicts the 30 years-old Interchurch Aid’s endeavours named “the power of unity” in a creative form. This Christmas, mug and textile bag designs by Plato’s Cave Design product designer and Szimonetta Zita Lóki young fashion designer, will be placed on the Advent donation shop’s shelves. The Advent Fair by the Basilica has opened for the fourteenth time this year. It won the best European Christmas fair award in 2019, so it is absolutely worth visiting it.

The unique fashion and design items will be available for a month – between the 3rd and the 23rd of December – while stocks last, as both products are limited editions made exclusively for the occasion. The proceeds from the sales help the organisation provide food, shelter, and a chance for the disadvantaged all year round. Next to the fundraiser shop, there is a bakery where volunteers bake beautiful gingerbread hearts to thank donors for their support. We can make the holidays of even more people in need more beautiful with the power of collaboration and by helping the everyday work of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid.
