This October, 360 Design Budapest awaits you with a more diverse programme than ever

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organises the 360 Design Budapest between the 17th and the 22nd of October in the Adria Palace, where domestic and regional designers’ creations, professional presentations, and a wide range of exciting programmes will await those interested. Those who are familiar with the world of design can discover internationally acclaimed names among the participants, such as the special guest of the event series, one of the greatest icons of contemporary design, Rossana Orlandi, or the team of the new generation design brand 6:AM Glassworks.

An important novelty of 360 Design Budapest, to be held for the fourth time now, is that applied and fine artists will join the circle of exhibitors alongside product designers. The new concept will be introduced at the new venue; the former naval palace, Adria Palace, a more than one hundred years old historic building, will host this year's exhibition. With the contribution of actors in tourism and hospitality, creative and cultural sectoral education institutions, and construction and design companies, 360 Design Budapest is evolving into an experience-based, unique design programme series in the CEE countries.

The number of applications was higher than ever; all in all, 70 entries were submitted to the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency in three categories (Brand / Product, Collectible Design and Prototypes / Digital Design), among which 27 applied to the call for emerging talents and new entrants. Based on the decision of a professional jury, more than 160 creations by nearly 60 artists will be available at the exhibition, including the works of 16 new entrants and objects of 10 regional designers and artists, which will arrive at the venue from Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland and Ukraine.

The concept dreamt up by Gáspár Bonta, curator, builds on an exciting combination of different installation spaces through which he guides visitors through the mysteries of product design and fine and applied arts. The meeting of past and present, interacting inspirations from different artistic visions, and innovation are the centre of the exhibition.

360 Design Budapest collaborates with Art Market Budapest, to be held in October as well for the third time. Their joint professional day, Inside Art / Building on Art Hungary, discusses how art appearing in public spaces can represent value in communities. Throughout the event, those interested can also apply for connected programmes, such as a group viewing of the Zsolnay Auction items at the Virág Judit Gallery or the Einspach Art & Photography exhibition. Moreover, those who seek a unique artistic experience can participate in exclusive guided tours this year as well: Judit Horváth, museologist, curator, and Head of the Department of the Contemporary Design Collection in the Museum of Applied Arts; Anna Kelen, leading art historian and auctioneer at Virág Judit Gallery; Priszcilla Varga, stylist and art director; Iván Vitáris, singer and frontman of the band Ivan & The Parazol; and Nóra Winkler, cultural expert, presenter, and auctioneer will guide the visitors. The professional partnership with Code Showroom will bring the world-famous high-end design brand 6:AM Glassworks to the event as a presenter, and they will also realise a spectacular pop-up side event.

As part of 360 Design Budapest, the manufacturer-designer duos selected for the design LAB curated by Rossana Orlandi incubation programme, launched in April 2023, will present their product ideas that will be realised during the programme. As the event's chief guest, Rossana Orlandi, mentor, will also have a dialogue with young talents. Creative Dialogue Led by Rossana Orlandi: She will hold an interactive, direct conversation entitled Young People, Design, and Arts, to which she awaits especially emerging talents interested in a career in arts.

In addition, 360 Design Budapest collaborates with the Museum of Applied Arts, Czechdesign, JAB ANSTOETZ, Solinfo Group and FIKSZ in 2023.
