The mobile pop-up store awaits V4 designers
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) has announced a call for open applications for the fashion and design brands of Czech, Slovak and Polish citizens living in the V4 countries to appear in the Budapest Central European Select pop-up store and to sell their products. Simplified applications can be submitted between 27th October and 15th November. The selected works will also conquer the capitals of the V4 countries over the next six months.
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) was established in 2018 with the goal of providing efficient and structured support to all players in the fashion and design industry along predefined strategic pillars, namely, professional coordination, improving the availability and commercial opportunities of Hungarian products, education development and production development. At the same time, the HFDA places great emphasis on the role of Hungary's V4 presidency, on regional cooperation and on strengthening cultural heritage and experience.
Applications to the call are expected by talented creators of men's and women's clothing, accessories, ceramics, jewellery, furniture, home furnishing products and accessories. The submitted applications must include documents such as the product and brand concept, a presentation of previous collections or product lines, the designer’s professional portfolio and a stock list of the products to be sold. The applications will be judged by a professional jury, and the brands they consider the best will be selected based on various professional criteria and expectations.
The Budapest Central European Select pop-up store is a travelling programme series. This means the selected Hungarian and regional designers will have the opportunity to sell in Warsaw, Prague and Bratislava for a number of days in addition to Budapest, where the pop-up store was first presented as a side event of the Budapest Central European Fashion Week between 11-19 October.
The HFDA has always considered it important to establish collaborations with other V4 countries. Several regional designers presented their SS22 collection to 4,000 professional visitors at the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, while at the 360 Design Budapest design exhibition the audience had the chance to meet a total of 10 regional designers in addition to 28 Hungarian creators, and roundtable talks were organised at the events with the participation of regional designers.
"Through this initiative, the Agency aims to raise awareness of the region's creative industry, strengthen cooperation between the industry’s institutions, generate joint projects, exchange contemporary fashion and other designers and programmes, intensify mobility and develop tourism and tourism services," said Zsófia Bata-Jakab, CEO of MDDÜ.
