The Budapest Central European Fashion Week returns with a new concept in February
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organises the eleventh Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) between the 2nd and the 6th of February. The Budapest fashion week awaits those interested at several iconic venues with a fresh concept. Unlike in previous years, the Hungarian and regional designers will present their autumn/winter 2023-24 collections in a creative presentation.
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organises one of the most important fashion events of the Central European region, the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, twice a year. The fashion event awaits professionals and fashion enthusiasts for the eleventh time with a consciously renewed concept and theme in Pest and Buda between the 2nd and the 6th of February.
What makes the BCEFW presenting the 2023-24 autumn-winter collections extraordinary is that designers introduce themselves in the form of a presentation. The brands get a chance to emphasise their own characteristics through unique and innovative concepts even more to better attract the attention of the profession and the general public. The 15 Hungarian, two Polish and two Slovakian fashion brands’ presentations will be held in four venues: the Hungarian National Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, and the ELTE University Library and Archives. In addition to the weekend presentations, many side events will diversify the fashion week’s programme, and a BCEFW pop-up store will open its door to the customers on the Fashion Street.
But the innovations will not only manifest in the presentation format and the choice of venues; the BCEFW also took a professional step forward: now a group of experts, the Advisory Board enhances the professional quality of the event. The internationally acclaimed professionals participating in the Advisory Board will contribute to the achievement of the Agency's objectives: they will assist the creation of a more efficient criteria and support system with their advice and perspective, focusing on designers and young talents, while also considering current questions affecting the fashion industry and keeping sustainability and technological aspects in mind as well.
The BCEFW’s main goal remains the same: to connect the domestic fashion and design industry to the international professional flow, and in the long run, turn Budapest into a regional centre, strengthening the city’s role in tourism and the country’s image.
