The 12th BCEFW is coming with colourful programmes and the future generations in the focus

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency will organise the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) between the 28th of August and the 3rd of September. One of the region’s main fashion industry events will return renewed in different ways; exciting programmes await the professional audience and those interested in Building G of Millenáris and its surroundings and the Millenáris National Dance Theatre.

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) is organising the Budapest Central European Fashion Week for the twelfth time now, which has become a leading fashion event in the Central European region thanks to past successes.

This time, the BCEFW will be realised based on a new professional concept, including a new criteria system which outlines categories transparently from the first step of the application and ensures that the designers and fashion brands can debut on a high-profile professional platform. The Advisory Board, created by the HFDA in January 2023, composed of internationally acknowledged experts, helped creating the concept.

During BCEFW, the HFDA places emphasis on the presence of regional brands alongside Hungarian ones and strengthening relations, in line with the goal that players on the international fashion scene can regard this event as a bridge that connects regional countries while providing an opportunity to strengthen their market role and export activities as a diving board.

On the weekend days of BCEFW, the 2nd and 3rd of September, domestic and international designers will reveal their 2024 spring-summer collections. At the main event, altogether, 39 brands will showcase their collections. Alongside 24 Hungarians, Ukrainian, Romanian, Czech, Polish, Slovakian, and Serbian designers will present their works. Young designers will be in the focus who will debut in a collective show in the Young Talent and New Generation categories.

The event will also display the newest trends in the fashion industry, but the events designed especially for the general public and Generation Z will also have many novelties to offer. The Fashion Hub will open its gates for the first time, where those interested can participate in presentations and roundtable discussions, and they will have a chance to get to know more about unconventional topics such as Street Style photography or TikTok trends. Participation will be free, but some programmes will require prior registration.

The range of side events is further broadening thanks to the professional partners of BCEFW. Throughout the whole event, between the 28th of August and the 3rd of September, colourful programmes will offer exciting points of connection to the world of fashion in several locations in Budapest. UNREALINDUSTRY, alongside its pop-up store, will await young people with a musical event during the weekend, and the first event of the W Hotel Faces of Budapest programme series will boost the range of professional activities.

BCEFW’s main goal is to act as the number one platform of the professional community in the region and to turn Hungary into a determining player in the international fashion and design industry’s professional community. The event wishes to provide extended visibility for designers connecting the region’s countries as a bridge to provide access to the international scene for brands debuting here.
