Silence is the new luxury! – Five talented Hungarian design brands present their creations inspired by nature at the Maison&Objet design fair

Hungarian talents debut in March for the third time at one of Europe’s most prestigious interior design exhibitions under the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s unified Budapest Select umbrella brand. The five Hungarian designers’ works will be placed in the iconic Signature Hall in a closed stand built with unique solutions aiming to exhibit Hungarian product designers’ creations in a clean, calm environment.

After the successes of the last years, Hungary’s designers can prove their worth again at the Maison&Objet design fair in March. The Hungarian product designers arrive with notable furniture, interior design, lighting technology and ceramics novelties to the event in the French capital. The Hungarian products exhibited reveal the designers’ unique way of thinking, the diversity of the design industry, and a wide range of objects. You can spot a return to nature in the designers’ creations in material use and inspirational sources.

“At the fair, like in previous years, Hungarian creations will be placed in the Signature Hall known as the location of trendsetting brands. The organisers picked the topic “New Luxury” as the inspiration for the March event to which we join with the theme “Silence is the New Luxury”. Our stand concept symbolises finding our way back to nature after the pandemic and drawing strength from it. What makes it special is that it strives to appeal to all senses of the visitors: soft music, unique scents, and green plants ensure a clean atmosphere, as well as the undisturbed discovery of the objects” – highlighted Zsófia Bata-Jakab, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s CEO.

The Budapest Select stand allows designers’ objects all inspired by nature to prevail in a closed, internally quiet area, shutting out external factors and applying close-to-nature solutions.

Boldizar Senteski’s works include mostly mirrors, furniture, and home accessories in terms of Collectible Design and Functional Art. His works resemble sculptures, drawing a lot from the environment surrounding him and its architecture. The product designer presents a standing mirror and a tarnished steel desk with a unique oxidised mirror tabletop rendering it special.

Concrazy is the next in line with their ultra-high-strength, brass-lined concrete Terazzo coffee table which exemplifies a combination of materials and natural colours. The brand aims to create such durable and functional furniture and interior design elements that bring us joy while using or simply looking at them.

ERROR N’ MORE offers novelty in the field of accessories and displays the OASIS plates line inspired by desert oases, created especially for haute cuisine where eating is not only a physical need but spiritual nourishment. The plates are made in a wood oven so each piece has its individual character.

Oleant’s brand philosophy is just as unique as its lamps. Their sophisticated customers’ creative ideas are realised by a team with quality products and impeccable customer service. They combine astrology and engineering masterfully in their work, and their unique lamps with light- and lighting technology elements complete the picture.

Meander Kerámia Manufaktúra’s decoration pieces fill the space as beautiful ornaments and unify Hungarian objects. Processing the Carpathian Basin’s cultural heritage and transforming it to fit the modern world plays an essential role in the brand’s life. These rustic forms can be lovely ornaments of both modern and authentic architectural spaces.

The five designers debut under the HFDA’s unified umbrella brand. The Budapest Select brand’s main goal is to provide more considerable attention to talented Hungarian designers during international appearances with a unified communication while keeping the brands’ individual characteristics. The Agency has been providing opportunities for debuting for Hungarian product designers in front of the international design scene for years now. In 2020, 11, and in 2021, 10 Hungarian designers took part in one of Europe’s most prestigious interior design trade shows through the Budapest Select brand.
