Nature and silence have inspired the Hungarian stand at Maison&Objet


Five Hungarian brands present their creations at the Paris Maison&Objet design fair in March. The selected talents will represent Hungary under the HFDA’s unified Budapest Select umbrella brand at one of Europe’s most prestigious interior design trade shows. The design objects will be placed in a closed stand built with exceptional solutions that appeals to all senses of the visitors and presents the creations inspired by nature using the power of silence. The stand will be found in the iconic Signature Hall again, the usual place for trendsetter brands.

 

After the autumn success, Hungarian designers can prove themselves again between 24-28 March, arriving with the Hungarian design industry’s illustrious furniture, interior design, lighting technology and ceramics novelties at the French capital. Many people might ask themselves why it is worth it for Hungarian product designers to take their products all the way to Paris. The response is complex: on the one hand, the Maison&Objet design fair is considered among the three most determining interior design events in Europe. On the other hand, it is important to highlight that thousands of exhibitors from almost 50 countries display their furniture and interior design accessories at the event held twice a year, attracting nearly 100 thousand people. Last but not least, resellers, manufacturers, and distributors visit the exhibition with the purpose of discovering new brands.

Our designers debuting at the exhibition held last September gained almost 600 design industry contacts, creating essential relationships. The interest in Hungarian design objects is reflected in the fact that designers are in the administrative phase of orders and have also been receiving new requests since the autumn exhibition.

The brands selected for the March design fair and their products reveal Hungarian designers’ unique way of thinking, the diversity of the design industry, and the wide range of interior design objects. Boldizar Senteski presents a standing mirror and a tarnished steel desk with a unique oxidised mirror tabletop. Concrazy is next in line with two coffee tables, exemplifying a mixture of materials and natural colours. ERROR N’ MORE offers novelty in gastronomy and displays the OASIS plates line inspired by desert oases. Meander Kerámia Manufaktúra’s decoration pieces will fill the space as beautiful ornaments. Oleant’s unique lamps with light- and lighting technology elements complete the picture.

Like in previous years, Hungarian creations will be placed in the Signature Hall known as the location of trendsetting brands. The five brands selected by the professional jury are debuting under the HFDA Budapest Select umbrella brand, which aims to draw more attention to designers during international appearances with unified communication.

The organisers picked the topic “New Luxury” as the inspiration of the 2022 March Maison&Objet, to which the Hungarian stand concept fits with special solutions and a clean interior. The stand is an area that is completely closed from the outside and silent on the inside, and it allows for the designers’ work to prevail, excluding external factors. The concept symbolises finding our way back to nature, healing by and drawing force from nature. What makes it unique is that it tries to appeal to all of the visitors’ senses: the stand is filled with soft music and an amazing world of scents, and a green oasis in the middle provides for a clean and calming atmosphere. The stand is simple, still inviting and mysterious from the outside; thus, while walking through it, you can delve into the objects inside and discover the product designers’ masterpieces undisturbed.
