Introducing Twenty-four contemporary design brands to the visitors of 360 Design Budapest
This Autumn, the 360 Design Budapest exhibition will open its doors for the first time - realised and supported by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, the professional partner of Budapest Design Week. The event, held between 8-10 October will present visitors the objects and creations of twenty contemporary Hungarian design brands, set up in the city centre studio located in Budapest. The online exhibition will be supplemented by the works of four regional designers. In addition to the introduction of world-class designers, guided tours, and interiors decorated with designer pieces, a design history exhibition and online roundtable discussions also await those interested.
Between 8-10 October, the creativity of Hungarian designers will come to life at the exhibition hall located at 4-6 Aulich Street in Budapest, at the 360 Design Budapest programme series hosted by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency. The official programme of Budapest Design Week will illustrate the role of design in everyday life via an exciting exhibition. Visitors will be able to discover special furniture, unique tableware, lamps, textiles and other utility items, as well as drawing inspiration and ideas for furnishing their own homes from the on-site interior design corners. The physical exhibition space will be viewable on the event’s website through digital, spherical panorama recordings, to ensure that the exhibited products are accessible to everyone, regardless of geographical distance.
Those interested will be able to view the objects of world-class domestic designers, who were selected to participate in the event as exhibitors via an open application process. The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency welcomed applicants in 11 product categories, ranging from individual furniture to special household ceramics to concrete products. The professional jury responsible for selecting the showcasing designers were specifically looking for design products that are not only original but also perfectly reflect the purpose of the event, ie. that they fully represent the uniqueness of Hungarian design. Based on the brand and product selection chosen by industry experts, visitors will able to gain insight to the amazing world of design through the works of Adamlamp, Codolagni, Error n’more, Hannabi, Sára Kele, KOMONKA, Ábel Lakatos, LumoConcept, Ádám Miklósi , Oleant, Paper Up, Planbureau, Plydesign, Position Collective, RAWfiction, Anna Regős, Sixay, Socowoo, Studio Nomad, and Fanni Ungár.
Besides the introduction of the Hungarian designers, a true experience of “time travel” awaits those interested, as an exhibition on the history of design will also be present, bringing back the outstanding works of the past decades. The event’s organizers are happy to invite participants on a real design tour via guided tours, during which they can get to know the works on display through the lense of Gáspár Bonta, an internationally renowned designer. Visitors will be able to get answers to the most exciting questions of design, as the opportunity to listen to the roundtable discussions of design DIALOG - specifically for Budapest Design Week - will also be available at the event.
In order to conduct the event in a secure manner and to make sure the safety of both visitors and Hungarian designers remains a top priority, only 50 guests will be admitted to the event space at once. Complying with health and safety regulations, the event space will be frequently disinfected, with hand sanitizers available on-site. Further, masks will also be provided for guests, who will also be required to sign an epidemiological statement regarding the COVID-19 virus infection, and agree to comply with the rules applicable to the entire area of the event. Pre-registration is mandatory prior to taking part in the event, which can be completed via the following link: https://360dbp.hu/
