Inspiring Stories and Creative Work – BCEFW Fashion Hub Returns With Anniversary Programmes

This year, Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) celebrates its 15th season with a special anniversary edition. One of the central events of Fashion Week, to be held from 10 to 16 February, will be the Fashion Hub, awaiting audiences interested in the fashion, beauty, and creative industries in the National Dance Theatre with diverse professional programmes, interactive workshops, and special anniversary novelties. One of the most exciting innovations of this season is the life story interview series, bringing outstanding fashion and beauty industry figures closer through inspiring stories. In addition, every registered Fashion HUB participant will receive a unique BCEFW souvenir, evoking the most memorable moments of the event’s history. Fashion Hub programmes are free of charge again this year.

In the last three seasons, Fashion Hub has become the flagship event of BCEFW. The event series goes way beyond the world of fashion shows: it allows insight into the behind-the-scenes of the profession. The event aims to strengthen the professional community and create an inspiring platform where creative dialogue and innovative thoughts can freely prevail. In the anniversary season, Fashion Hub offers even more excitement and novelties at this year’s BCEFW. The programmes focus on sustainability, innovation, and conscious self-expression, but creating a discourse between the young generation and experienced professionals is also an important goal.

At the event, a tradition-setting brand-new life story interview series is debuting, putting the careers of iconic figures in the Hungarian fashion industry in the spotlight. Firstly, Ági Pataki, a model and fashion icon, will talk about the milestones in her career. On the last day, Massimo Morello, a renowned hairdresser in the international beauty industry, will share his career’s defining moments. The inspiring conversations can serve as an example for entrants in the field while celebrating the richness of the regional fashion industry.

The Fashion Hub’s event calendar will offer different creative workshop opportunities for visitors: on Saturday, the SKINAHOLIC lip gloss-making workshop will kick off the day, where participants can create personalised lip balms, lips glosses, and night masks using natural ingredients, led by expert cosmetologists Eszter and Noémi. In the afternoon, the KREATOUR Sashiko sewing workshop, led by Andrea Földi, will teach visitors the intricate art of repairing and reinforcing Japanese textiles. On Sunday, Emese Zentai’s aluminium jewellery-making workshop will allow participants to design and create unique jewellery using simple craft techniques and learn the basics of metal artistry.

Sustainability plays a central role in this year’s programme: the HEMPY People Workshop on Sunday will showcase the potential uses of industrial hemp in the textile, construction, and paper industries through practical examples, while also highlighting the importance of sustainability and community building. In the afternoon, the “Re-HUB – Recycling as the Future of Fashion” roundtable discussion will take place, where Gergely Zámbó, Zsüli Madarász, and Szonja Lang will share their experiences on the practical implementation of conscious design and its future possibilities.

Professional discussions are always at the centre of the Fashion Hub. Sára Bálint, stylist, will give a lecture on conscious fashion and the creation of a capsule wardrobe, offering practical tips on striking the perfect balance between self-expression and functionality. Following this, the discussion “Dressed for the Part – The Magical Power of Stage Costumes" will explore the artistic and social significance of performance costumes, featuring OHNODY, Marge, and Babé Sila. In the afternoon, the roundtable discussion titled "Trends, Innovation, and Sustainability in Beauty" will address the latest technological developments and sustainability challenges in the beauty industry, where Adrienn Páll, Szabina Tomán, and Anna Harangvölgy will provide insights into the industry’s future, moderated by Zsófia Marencsák.

As the 15th anniversary season’s speciality, every registered Fashion Hub participant will receive a BCEFW relic, which fittingly commemorates the unforgettable moments of previous fashion week seasons. Although the programmes are free, prior registration is needed due to the limited number of places. You can find the programmes and register at the following link:
