In October, the BCEFW designers return live with their latest collections once again
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency is once again organising its most anticipated fashion event, the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, offline. You can already submit your application. In addition to the best Hungarian and regional fashion designers, the emerging talents of the Young Talents Program will present their spring-summer 2022 collections in front of a domestic and international audience, as well as to buyers and renowned representatives of the industry.
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organises the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, the main fashion event of the Central European region, twice a year. For many years, the BCEFW has been the number one meeting point for the general public, buyers, designers, influencers as well as the domestic and the international media in the region, and it is going to be organised in a live form this year. Thanks to this, Budapest is once again getting closer to becoming one of the dominant fashion capitals of the region. The fashion week so far has placed a strong emphasis on the Central European region, but this year designers from the V4 countries will be increasingly integrated into its programme.
The special feature of this year’s event is that the BCEFW is joining the Fashion & Design Autumn, which is the Agency’s autumn-themed event series, featuring the most inspiring and most creative fashion and design programmes. In this special series, the BCEFW will showcase talented designers and their collections within such events like the Milan Fashion Week, the Maison&Objet home furnishing exhibition, the 360 Design Budapest exhibition and the Budapest Fashion & Tech Summit on the domestic stage. For this period, Budapest will become a real capital of fashion and design, so even more visitors can come to Hungary, which is of key economic importance. The fashion and design events provide visibility for Hungarian brands, and they can also result in international orders, which can boost domestic production as well as create and maintain new, creative jobs with high added value.
Between 16th and 17th October, one of Hungary's most anticipated live fashion events is going to open again, depending on the Covid restrictions in place at the time. The BCEFW will present a new image, new designers and new programmes at the Bálna, where Hungarian and regional designers and young talents from the HFDA Young Talents Program are going to present pieces from their latest spring-summer 2022 collections. In addition to the many side events included in the programme, a pop-up store will open in the city centre, allowing visitors to view, try on and purchase pieces of the current, seasonal collections in person. The store on Fashion Street will be open to the customers between 11th and 22nd October.
As a result of the global situation, back in spring, the Agency decided, taking into account international trends, to hold the BCEFW digitally in the form of runway videos. The recordings from the collections have achieved amazing results, with nearly 12,000 views during the four days of the event, and with this number reaching more than one million since then.
The prime goal of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency is to get the Hungarian creative industry into the international professional circulation, and to transform Budapest into a regional centre, thereby strengthening the country's image in the long run. One of its important pillars is the organisation of events of great interest worldwide, such as the Budapest Central European Fashion Week.
The BCEFW also provides an opportunity for new designers to showcase their talent and special creations at the Young Talents Show. You can apply on the official BCEFW website: https://bcefw.com/apply
