Immerse Yourself in Creation at the Fashion & Design Festival

The Fashion & Design Festival is returning to the Millenáris Reception Building. As part of the Saint Stephen's Day celebrations, between the 19th and the 20th of August 2024, exciting handicraft activities and creative industry workshops await visitors in Budapest. One of the main objectives of the Fashion & Design Festival is to transfer educational, pragmatic, and immersive knowledge to those interested in the fashion and creative industries through a variety of programs.

The Fashion & Design Festival will open its doors for the fourth time. The event series, attracting thousands each year, will welcome visitors with numerous programs between 19-20 August in the Millenáris Reception Building. The organisers are preparing exciting handicraft activities with the collaboration of contemporary Hungarian fashion- and product designers and creative professionals. In the spirit of sustainability, there will again be an opportunity to refresh your wardrobe; in the popular recycling workshop, you can give new life to your old clothes using various techniques. In addition, visitors can look forward to popular activities such as punch needling, ceramics, linocut and silk painting.

There will be no shortage of unique, popular materials; during the two-day program, visitors can work with wool felt, leather, wood, textiles, paper and even lichen. Be it a gift idea, beauty care, home decor or the joy of creation, everyone, regardless of age, can find the workshop that suits them best from a wide range of programs that offer insights into many areas of the creative industries. Participants can test their talents and creativity in many exciting subjects, from cosmetics workshops to carpentry, making jewellery and trendy string lights.

As part of the Fashion & Design Festival, you can purchase affordable products from contemporary Hungarian fashion and creative industry brands in a pop-up store available in the Millenáris Reception Building exclusively during the event.

Programs are open to young and old, and families, groups of friends and individuals, with a wide range of activities to suit all tastes. Participation in the activities is free, and the tools and materials needed for the creative work are provided.

The Fashion & Design Festival realised as part of the St. Stephen's Day celebrations with the professional contribution of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, fulfils an educational role while providing an experience for children and adults alike, aiming to promote creative industry professions and build a community.
