Hungarian Designer Success at the Grammy Awards
The 67th Grammy Awards, held in the first days of February in Los Angeles, did not pass without Hungarian involvement. On the red carpet of the awards ceremony, also known as the Oscars of the music industry, Jaden Smith, Will Smith’s son, decisively stole the spotlight with the remarkable headpiece designed for him by Dóra Abodi, a Hungarian fashion designer.
The fashion world and international press immediately picked up one of the most memorable fashion moments of the event, placing Hungarian creativity in the spotlight at the international awards ceremony. The accessory, worn with a Louis Vuitton suit, was first reported on by The New Times, Vogue, Designboom, and Vanity Fair.
ABODI Transylvania created a special “Vampire Castle” headpiece at the request of the celebrity’s manager and stylist. Inspired by movies and vampire legends, the hat faithfully reflects the brand’s ideology and origins. The vampire castle headpiece symbolises eternity, sensuality, as well as power in folk narrative, history, and arts.
The clothes and accessories of Dóra Abodi, who hails from a Székely noble family, represent a bold and artistic approach and have been featured in the editorials of Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Numero. A number of A-list celebrities have worn her pieces in recent years, including Cate Blanchett, Katy Perry, Kylie Jenner, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Rita Ora, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, Eva Herzigova, Tyra Banks, and Miranda Kerr.
For the designer, the garments inspired by Transylvanian folklore and cultural heritage are not just about fashion but also the intertwining of various art forms, experimentation, and storytelling. The international professional scene is interested in her unique vision, and her work is increasingly sought after in the world of boundary-pushing red-carpet events. The modern luxury brand is a key player in the Hungarian and regional fashion scenes. Her collections are frequently showcased at the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, organised by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, and at Milan Fashion Week.
