HFDA Startup programme calls for applications from young and creative entrepreneurs

The HFDA Startup Programme is launched for the third time this autumn to find the most promising young fashion and design startup entrepreneurs and provide them with free business development training and investment opportunities of up to 20 million Hungarian forints. The programme is primarily looking for special and unique ideas that can stand their ground on the international stage. Talented young entrepreneurs can apply for the popular programme until the 1^st of November midnight.

The HFDA Startup Programme targets workers and students in the creative industry in a joint initiative of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA), the Startup Campus Innovation Agency and the Hiventures venture capital fund manager belonging to the MFB Group. The programme is primarily designed to help fashion and design innovations providing unique solutions to the freshest trends of the industry in entering the market.

There is a growing interest in the initiative, as shown by the fact that more than 60 candidates applied for the 2020 autumn programme. Teams enrolled in the HFDA Startup Programme receive five weeks of online business development training and business and professional mentoring. Those selected for the programme's second phase will receive five more weeks of investment preparation and up to 20 million Hungarian forints of venture capital investment. Participants of the incubational programme will first learn the necessary theoretical and practical basics for launching a startup, then professional mentors and industry experts will help them fine-tune their business, and finally, the most promising projects can present their ideas at the closing Demo Day.

The organisers of the Startup Programme are expecting the applications from teams of at least two from Hungary and abroad who have an innovative fashion or design industry idea or prototype on areas of focus such as sustainable fashion and design, manufacturing technology, textile industry innovations, interior design solutions, interior design and furniture innovations, free time products, and material science, technological, and IT innovations.
