HFDA Calls Break Records

A record number of applications have been received for the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) and the 360 Design Budapest calls. Nearly 100-100 designers, brands, and creators took the opportunity before the deadline, which is an all-time high since the 2018 foundation of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA). Visitors and guests can see numerous new talents this season, as more than fifty applications were submitted for the emerging and new generation calls.

Between the 26th of August and the 1st of September, Hungarian and regional fashion brands will present their latest collections at the Budapest Central European Fashion Week for the fourteenth time. Nearly 100 fashion brands applied to the 2025 spring-summer season’s fashion week. Once again, the organisers have made submissions available in several categories. The brands could indicate their preference for appearing on the Catwalk, Self-Organised Show, BCEFW Showcase, Presentation, or the New Generation Collective Show.

BCEFW offers recognised domestic and regional brands opportunities to expand their trade borders, increase their international visibility, and is now a diving board for the newest generation of designers who can apply to the event with their diploma collections. This time, over 30 Hungarian and more than 20 regional new talents applied to debut at BCEFW in front of the representatives of the profession and the public interested in fashion. In the following days, the Advisory Board will look through the entries and select the brands and designers of BCEFW SS25 based on professional criteria. It will be worth following the BCEFW website and social media platforms, where the season’s brands will soon be unveiled in an official schedule.

360 Design Budapest regional exhibition will be held again between the 15th and the 20th of October. The Red Dot Award-winner event calls our attention to the everyday role of design surrounding us in 360 degrees and the importance of design as a shared language. After the record-breaking numbers of last year, now more product designers, industrial artists, and design brands applied to the open calls of the event by the 7th of June than ever. The total number of applicants exceeded 90, and the number of displayed objects might be even higher this year. Creators and brands could apply in three categories to the fifth 360 Design Budapest, and they could apply in several sections simultaneously. 35 production-ready, mass-producible objects were entered in the Brand/Product category. 41 applicants submitted fine and applied art objects to the Collectible Design category. Furthermore, 27 creators applied in the Prototype/Digital Plan category with a prototype or in a digital (3D) plan format. The organisers invited new talents’ applications in a separate call. For them, 360 Design Budapest can be the first exhibition opportunity. More emerging designers and artists than ever before took advantage of the opportunity, with over 30 submitting their applications in hopes of showcasing their work at the regional exhibition. After the deadline of the call, the professional jury will evaluate the received applications, and soon it will be revealed which objects and creators the audience can meet in the exhibition space of 360 Design Budapest.

It is not too late for professionals to join the events! BCEFW SS25 and 360 Design Budapest welcome applications from side event partners. Businesses have the possibility to connect to the events with programs organised by them to promote their brands, which will be supported by the organiser with central marketing and PR communication.
