Full-House Programs at the Fashion & Design Festival
Visitors flowed in and out of the Fashion & Design Festival, held as part of the St. Stephen’s Day celebrations. Most programs were full-house even before the event, with creative leisure options for each age group.
The Fashion & Design Festival was held for the fourth time between the 19th and the 20th of August in the Millenáris Reception Hall with the assistance of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency. Those interested could participate in exciting handicraft activities with the collaboration of contemporary Hungarian fashion- and product designers and creative professionals. In addition, there was an opportunity to purchase Hungarian designer pieces at the pop-up store at the venue, exclusively available during the event.
Over 4000 visitors gathered at the Millenáris Reception Hall to participate in the Fashion & Design Festival. Even at the opening, eager visitors lined up, waiting to dive into creative activities. The workshops provided multiple opportunities to try different creative industry areas, from a cosmetic workshop and carpentry to making jewellery and trendy light garlands.
As a tradition, the event invites every age group to create. This time, young and old and families and groups of friends alike joined the workshops. During the sessions led by creative professionals, participants worked with a variety of unique and popular materials, including wool felt, leather, wood, fabric, paper, and even lichen, to complete their projects. Workshop participants did not go home empty-handed, as they could take their creations with them. These small items could serve as gifts, handy objects, or cherished souvenirs.
In only two days, the pop-up store had over 500 visitors. The organisers offered a unique selection to those interested. The store’s offer was only available during the event, and numerous Hungarian brands’ clothing pieces and accessories were on sale.
The Fashion & Design Festival serves an educational role in addition to offering experiences for both children and adults. Its goal is to promote careers in the creative industry and foster community building.
