All eyes in the fashion industry will be on the five new Hungarian brands showcasing on the first day of Milano Fashion Week
Milano Fashion Week has begun, and for the first time, the five Hungarian designers from the first Hungarian mentoring programme, selected by the experts of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) will be presenting their collections. Designers Kata Szegedi, NINI, MERO, ZIA budapest and THEFOUR will be showcasing their designs - as part of a joint programme with CNMI, will be representing Hungary at one of the most recognized fashion events in the world during a permanent exhibition and collective fashion show in September this year under the Budapest Select umbrella brand.
Although this year's Milan Fashion Week has been organised under unprecedented circumstances, at the opening, there were no obstacles: the Hungarian brands featured under the Budapest Select umbrella brand enjoyed a great amount of interest - already on the first day, despite the limited numbers of those in attendance. Buyers, international experts and representatives of renowned showrooms visited the Hungarian exhibition, which due to its consistent presence at the event, is already consciously sought after by fashion industry experts.
In 2018, the CNMI and HFDA signed a strategic agreement, based on which the leading fashion chamber on an international level, will be supporting Hungarian brands as a professional partner for a 3-year long period. Thanks to the mentoring programme and being present for 3 seasons at MFW, Hungarian designers are now prepared for the challenges of international market entry.
The Budapest Select brands will also be able to present their collections and the unique stories behind them in detail in the form of runways and short videos on the event’s online platforms.
