Fashion, Culture, and Shopping Experiences During BCEFW

Between 1–7 September, fashion takes centre stage in the capital once again, with more side events than ever – a total of 56 – diversifying the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW). Besides the 2026 spring–summer collections unveiled on the runway, the Fashion Week, organised by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA), offers programmes across the city which approach fashion from the perspectives of art, design, and gastronomy.

The event aims to bring Hungarian brands closer to the public and present fashion as a broader cultural experience. Sustainability is in the spotlight this year: collections made from recycled materials, upcycling workshops, and environmentally conscious design projects draw attention to responsible thinking. The open workshop and showroom visits offer direct insight into the designers’ work while fashion intertwines with other art forms. Jewellery-making workshops, photographic art projects, and contemporary exhibitions showcase the many ways in which creativity and style can intertwine.

Culinary experiences also play an indispensable role as thematic tastings, brunches, and special dinners bring together gastronomy and fashion. The programmes take place in diverse locations – stores, galleries, studios, and outdoor spaces – turning Fashion Week into a cultural festival of Budapest. Shopping opportunities are connected to the event, with pop-up stores, promotions, and limited-edition pieces awaiting visitors eager to discover unique collections and exclusive deals.

In addition to events for the general public, professional programmes will also take place. The international conference held at the Műcsarnok analyses the connection between cultural heritage and fashion as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on the media. The symposium at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design examines the geopolitical dimensions of fashion and the role of Central and Eastern Europe in the creative industry.

BCEFW events are open to both the public and industry professionals; most programmes are free, while workshops and discussions require prior registration. Discover the colourful programmes of Budapest Central European Fashion Week, from 1 to 7 September, and immerse yourself in the vibrant encounter of fashion and culture.

Navigation between programmes is facilitated by the printed Fashion Map, which allows for personalised programme planning. The entire calendar of side events and Fashion Hub events is available at the event’s official platforms.
