Discover the Latest Trends: Budapest Central European Fashion Week Is Kicking Off

The Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) is starting today, featuring a myriad of exciting fashion-themed programs, professional events, and influential figures from the domestic and regional fashion scene. Fashion enthusiasts can spot several international journalists and influencers among the guests, including representatives from Czech and Polish Vogue, Serbian ELLE, and the American 10Magazine, who are all arriving in Budapest to see the regional fashion brands. Thanks to the side events, the whole city is coming to life this week. At the weekend, in addition to the fashion shows, numerous programs appealing to Gen Z will take place in the Fashion Hub.

If you are interested in the region’s determining fashion trends in addition to Hungarian designers’ stunning creations, check out some of the ten regional fashion brands alongside the 19 domestic designers. Three Slovakian, three Ukrainian, a Serbian, an Austrian and two Polish designers will present their newest collections in Budapest. The venue of the main events of BCEFW AW2425 is the Museum of Fine Arts, where catwalk shows, BCEFW Showcase, and the New Generation collective shows will be realised between the 27th and the 28th of January. The Museum of Fine Arts is a determining location for Hungarian artistic heritage; the beautiful building provides the event with a captivating ambiance, creating an unforgettable experience for visitors in itself. In addition, several internationally acknowledged, important domestic brands are organising their own shows and presentations for their exclusive guests under the BCEFW’s framework.

The Fashion Hub, which debuted in the previous season, will open its gates again, this time in the Hungarian Art and Business building on Andrássy Avenue. It is worth being alert and registering promptly, as the programs are free but require prior registration. Professional lectures, workshops, and roundtable discussions will await those interested in sustainability and technology. To mention two programs, you can participate in the Recycle Me – BORBALA Patchwork Top Maker Workshop and the Dress-Coding workshop – AI and AR: Creative T-Shirt Making With Future Technologies. Those interested can visit discussions tailored for Gen Z, such as the Carrier Paths in the World of Contemporary Fashion roundtable discussion by Tamás Trunk and Emma Istvánffy or the stylish Lago di Nemi – Kamay Ko launch party. The moderator of Fashion Hub programs is Bence Csalár, a fashion journalist and fashion expert.

Budapest will again attract international journalists and influencers. At the weekend programs, followers of BCEFW will see familiar faces, as Patrick Domingo, the famous fashion and lifestyle photographer, will attend the shows. In addition to the celebrated actor of the international fashion scene, editors of the region’s prominent fashion magazines, including the Serbian ELLE and the Ukrainian, Polish, and Czech Vogue, will participate in the BCEFW hospitality tour, which will introduce them to Budapest’s cultural attractions.

Throughout the whole event, between the 22nd and 28th of January, colourful programs offer exciting points of connection for those interested in fashion in several locations in Budapest. In addition to visiting the exhibitions, roundtable discussions, presentations, showrooms and shopping parties, you can even design your own t-shirt at one of the venues.
