Thanks to the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, which made the event possible, the latest pieces of Hungarian and regional fashion designers were presented in the form of runway videos.

For many years now, Budapest Central European Fashion Week has been the number one event for the general public, buyers, designers and the media to all meet in the region, bringing Budapest closer to becoming one of the region's leading fashion capitals. The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organised the first digital BCEFW with the aim of preserving and strengthening the export-promoting nature of the event even in the face of adversity and current challenges, and by doing so, supporting regional talent and their economic stability.

In the past few days, those interested have been able to get an insight into the work of 11 Hungarian fashion designers - Virág Kerényi, Zia Budapest, Elysian, Sentiments Couture, Abodi, Nini, Mero, Kata Szegedi, Aeron, TheFour and Cukovy – out of which seven designers were able to show their collections on the runways of Milan Fashion Week, as participants of the Camera Nazionale della Moda mentoring programme. Their collections authentically presented the world of Hungarian fashion, which is characterized by a combination of traditions and contemporary art. Their products, characterized by minimalism and creativity gave the event a distinctive nature. In addition to Hungarian talents, six regional fashion designers - Roussin, Jean Gritsfeldt, Nadya Dzyak, Dominika Kozáková, Edyta Jermacz, and Odivi – also showcased their work, and therefore the event perfectly reflected the cultural richness of Central Europe. As a result, Budapest Central European Fashion Week in October was even more so held in the spirit of cooperation and community awareness between the nearby countries.

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, taking into account international trends, developed the concepts of the videos. The brands, representing historical past and traditions were housed in the Baroque Festetics Palace, while brands creating in an industrial style were able to convey the spirit of their collections at the OFF Cultural Weaving Factory. The HFDA has also distributed the created finalised footage to several international buyers, professionals and prestigious fashion magazines to help support the designers with sales opportunities, and by doing so, contributing to the continued presence of fashion brands in the international fashion circuit.

“Despite the unprecedented circumstances, Budapest Central European Fashion Week successfully brought together and conveyed the voice of the region. The historical past and artistic values of the surrounding countries have also been felt in a virtual form, as reported by acclaimed media outlets such as Vogue Magazine (US), Vogue UA, or WWD. Our common goal is for as many people as possible to discover the potential of Hungarian brands.” - stated Zsófia Bata-Jakab, CEO of HFDA.
