BCEFW’s first Fashion HUB awaits you with exclusive experiences and professional programmes

In less than a week, on the 28th of August, one of the major fashion events of the Central European region, the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW), is starting with numerous novelties, including the Fashion HUB welcoming the domestic audience for the first time now. The Millenáris National Dance Theatre will house the Fashion HUB, which is worth visiting for those interested in the world of fashion since you can learn numerous interesting facts about the newest trends, the future of fashion, and the behind-the-scenes of Fashion Week. You can participate in the programmes during the weekend days of the event series free of charge; however, places are limited.

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency will organise the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) between the 28th of August and the 3rd of September, allowing those interested to participate in diverse, fashion-themed programmes in different venues in Budapest. Similarly to previous years, the BCEFW will present domestic and regional designers’ and emerging talents’ newest 2024 spring-summer collections before the large international fashion weeks. During the event, the designers can introduce themselves to buyers, fashion industry representatives, and the broad audience in catwalk shows, the BCEFW showcase, presentations and a collective show. A novelty of the event is that, at the BCEFW, the Fashion HUB will open its gates, which has many exciting events in store for the general public alongside professional presentations.

The venue of the Fashion HUB in Budapest is the Millenáris National Dance Theatre building, where roundtable discussions, a pop-up store, and musicians will await those interested with well-known names among the celebrity, social, and fashion world. The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency aims to bring the fashion industry closer and present the possibilities of the creative vocation through Fashion HUB programmes, especially for young people and Generation Z.

The participants of the “What will be the future of fashion magazines? - brought to you by Fashion Street” roundtable discussion will be Krisztina Maróy, editor-in-chief of Glamour magazine, Viola Anna Molnár, managing editor of ELLE Hungary, and Dia Reményi, editor-in-chief of Fashion Street magazine, discussing questions of fashion content of the past, present, and future in the light of changing consumer habits.

Visitors then can discover the secrets of street style photography with Pat Domingo, and in the discussion “Ready, set, fashion week! – Fashion industry sneak peek with Adél Keller and Zsuzsi Felfalusi-Barta”, they can gain a deeper insight into the world of influencers and the mysteries of conscious online career-building with successful TikTok fashion content creators.

A highlighted topic of the programme series will be sustainable fashion: famous designers, Borbala and Kata Szegedi will answer questions about recycling, and
Lilla Lendvai will share conscious fashion and style tips with the participants. You can steal BCEFW’s makeup secrets from Ricsi Fazekas, Orsi Kiss and Vanessa Axente (ft. Omorovicza) will share some tips in connection with hair and beauty, and Bálint Pethő will also share his experiences about the behind-the-scenes of fashion events through the lenses of modelling agencies. The host of the Fashion HUB and moderator of the conversations will be Bence Csalár fashion journalist and expert.

A live DJ set will accompany the programmes, and on Saturday evening, a popular musical performer will join UNREALINDUSTRY’s side event.

Fashion Hub programmes will be free of charge during the event, but some programmes require prior registration due to the limited number of places. The organisers reserve the right to change the programme.
