BCEFW Pre-Fall Collection - Limited selection of fall-winter collections
Three-day fashion weekend, two exclusive venues, numerous side events, and over 30 Hungarian and polish fashion brands. The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organises the Budapest Central European Fashion Week again between the 31st of January and the 6th of February. This year’s first fashion week is realised with an exceptional concept: the Agency presents a limited selection of Hungarian and Polish designers’ newest, 2022/23 autumn-winter collections at the BCEFW Pre-Fall Collection before the international fashion shows. This concept enables the biggest buyers to see the next season’s pieces in Hungary first; thus, the sales incentivising goal can prevail.
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency organises the Central European region’s most important fashion event, the Budapest Central European Fashion Week, twice a year. For the first time this year, it is to be held before the fashion week season, between the 31st of January and the 6th of February. Furthermore, the Agency is planning a really exclusive experience: it will present a limited range of the designers’ newest collections at the BCEFW Pre-Fall Collection before the international fashion shows, between the 4th and the 6th of February.
Thanks to the early date of the event, international buyers can see the determining pieces of the next season in Hungary, enabling the HFDA’s sales incentivising goal to prevail. During the autumn BCEFW, professionals and distributors arrived from numerous countries, such as Europe, the Middle East, and America, whom the designers met in person, gaining essential sales opportunities. This year, a similarly diverse circle of guests can be expected, which is an outstanding opportunity for the brands.
The catwalk shows presenting the 2022/23 autumn-winter collections will take place for three days at two different venues in Budapest - in the Royal Riding Hall building on Friday and the Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday and Sunday. We can see ten sets from each of the 19 Hungarian and two Polish designers on BCEFW’s runway. Moreover, the organisers pay special attention to diversity, inclusivity, and emphasising a positive body image
During the fashion week, besides the fashion shows, numerous side events will await those interested at different spots of Budapest. As an accentuated side event, five Hungarian brands’ exhibitions can be viewed in Deák Palota on the Fashion Street, and seven in the Museum of Fine Arts, among which brands designing different accessories and jewellery. Besides personal participation, you can follow the events online on BCEFW’s official Facebook page and TikTok channel.
Furthermore, the Agency appears in the digital world of the Metaverse with a virtually built showroom, where you can buy Hungarian designers’ unique pieces directly with a click on the Budapest Select Concept Store website. From now on, creations will be available in the form of NFTs, which facilitate the virtual sales of the designers’ works.
The Agency offered the 2 million HUF profit of ticket sales of last October’s Budapest Central European Fashion Week to the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, which will be no different during the BCEFW this February. The income of ticket sales will be given to the aid organisation to cover their annual operation costs.
As the industry’s collective advocacy and representative organisation, by realising the BCEFW, the HFDA creates a platform for Hungarian and regional designers to show their collections regularly and attract the attention of the profession and the press to the Hungarian talents. In the long run, the event will facilitate Budapest becoming a regional fashion industry centre, which is one of the Agency’s primary goals.
