BCEFW celebrates its 10th anniversary in cooperation with UFW
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) is organising the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW), one of the most recognised fashion events in Hungary and the Central European region, for the tenth time between 29 August and 4 September. The Agency joined the "Support Ukrainian Fashion" initiative and closely cooperates with the organizers of the Ukrainian Fashion Week. Ukrainian designers will present their latest collections in Budapest for the first time in Europe. In addition to the catwalk shows held at the Museum of Fine Arts, the designers' pieces will be shown at several locations in city, so those interested can take a closer look at the 2023 spring-summer collections.
Budapest will turn into a real fashion city soon for a whole week, as the 10th jubilee Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) starts at the end of August, debuting the SS23 collections of Hungarian and regional brands before the major international fashion weeks. On the occasion of the round anniversary, the organisers are drawing attention to the importance of cooperation.
Since its establishment, the HFDA has continuously strived to support regional designers and strengthen their relations with Central European countries. In the past seasons, many regional talents have debuted on the runway of BCEFW. Along these principles, the HFDA aims to support Ukrainian designers in every possible way in the current situation, so they are closely cooperating with the Ukrainian Fashion Week (UFW) during the 10th jubilee BCEFW.
This is not the first collaboration between the HFDA and the UFW. As part of the professional relationship between the two organizations, they have been mutually supporting each other and the work of fashion designers for several years. Ukrainian designers have been returning participants of the fashion week in Budapest, while Hungarian talents have been showcasing in Kyiv. Furthermore, the representatives of the sector also mutually participate in the events of each organization.
The 51st Ukrainian Fashion Week will not be held in one location this year but in different parts of the world. The first stop of the 2022/23 spring-summer season will be Budapest, where the designers' work can be seen for the first time in Europe.
During BCEFW, between 3-4 September 2022, in addition to Hungarian and regional designers, 2 Ukrainian brands will have individual catwalk shows, while other Ukrainian designers will present in a collective fashion show at the Museum of Fine Arts. Additionally, Ukrainian fashion designers will receive assistance in sales as well.
During the second event of this year's BCEFW series, a wide array of fashion-themed side events awaits the public. The organisers will soon make the list of programmes available on the event's website: https://bcefw.com/
