After Budapest, Hungarian fashion brands have proven themselves once again in Milan
After BCEFW, Hungarian designers travelled all the way to Milan, as seven domestic brands were able to present their latest 2023/24 fall-winter collections at Milano Fashion Week. For the ninth time, the joint mentees of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) were able to appear at the event, which is considered one of the four biggest fashion weeks, which is a unique opportunity to present themselves on an international level.
Thanks to the joint International Mentoring Program of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI), seven Hungarian designers presented their 2023/24 fall-winter collections between 21-27 February 2023 at Milan Fashion Week.
Three of the mentored brands, UNREAL INDUSTRIES, PINETIME CLOTHING and ZSIGMOND, presented their latest collection within the walls of the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti on February 21, 2023, at the Fashion Hub, where the most important players from the fashion world visited during the rest of the week as well.
ABODI, CUKOVY, KATA SZEGEDI and THEFOUR presented their new collection on February 23, 2023, as part of the Budapest Select collective show, at one of the most frequented locations of Milano Fashion Week, where the most famous global brands, including Armani and Moschino, have already been introduced. This is an important milestone for the international mentoring program, because compared to previous seasons, for the first time, the guests could see the fashion show of domestic designers outside of the Fashion Hub. The prestige value of the independent venue strengthens the professional development of the mentored brands that have matured on the international market, as well as proves the year-by-year growing attention around the Budapest Select umbrella brand that brings them together at the Italian fashion week.
This year, Hungarian designers were accompanied by great interest at the Milano Fashion Week. Many buyers - including the Tessabit and Sapzio 38 showrooms - visited both the Fashion Hub and the Budapest Select collective show, the latter was attended by nearly 400 people in person, but those interested could also follow the live online broadcast of the CNMI. Fashion journalists from Vogue International, Vanity Fair and Elle Italia and Sara Maino, the founding head of Vogue Talents, also attended the show. Carlo Capasa, the president of the CNMI, also viewed the domestically designed pieces backstage. Much appreciative feedback has been received towards the talents of our country both from the expert participants and the international press.
At Milan Fashion Week, as in previous years, the Hungarian brands once again walked under the umbrella brand of HFDA Budapest Select. With the uniform appearance, the Agency - while also ensuring the benefits provided by joint communication - wants to lend Hungarian products a more intense overall effect, so that they make an even stronger impression on the professionals visiting the event. The Budapest Select umbrella brand has proven itself as in previous seasons: it effectively supported the international presence of domestic brands at the prestigious new venue.
