A Record Number of Visitors at the 13th BCEFW

The Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) fashion shows attracted a larger audience than ever; nearly 3000 visited the Museum of Fine Arts. Between the 22nd and the 28th of January, it was all about fashion in Budapest, and in one of the highest numbers to date, 25 side events awaited attendees throughout the city. The popular programs of the Fashion Hub, which debuted last season, were visited by nearly 1000 people in the Hungarian Art & Business building. 29 fashion brands, including 10 regional designers and exciting new talents, presented their collections to the audience during the weekend.

Exhibitions, roundtable discussions, open showrooms, special purchasing opportunities, musical programs and fashion shows awaited visitors interested in fashion in several points of Budapest during Fashion Week. Throughout the weekend, the audience could admire 29 brands’ newest collections, including Polish, Slovakian, Serbian, Austrian and Ukrainian designers, all in all, 10 regional designers’ works. In addition to the fashion shows in the Museum of Fine Arts, three acknowledged domestic brands joined the event with self-organised programs. Every detail of the events, organised at external venues, perfectly aligned with the unique character and style of each brand.

The weekend started with exciting shows, there was immense interest in the debut of up-and-coming designers at the beginning of their careers, and all the seats were taken in the New Generation collective shows in the Museum of Fine Arts. The Fashion Hub programs in the Hungarian Art & Business were popular. Many were interested in discussions about career opportunities in the world of fashion. Workshop participants could take home exciting creations of their own making and could delve into the topics of sustainability and technology.

International guests could get to know Budapest through a hospitality tour and have a taste of the city’s rich cultural offerings. As part of the professional audience, representatives of the Milan-based Spazio 38 showroom and the Polish Modivo, the buyer of the Swiss Hay Hay concept store, the owner of the Passion Alley boutique in Athens, and the founders of the White Milano trade show viewed the fashion shows. Fashion editors from Vogue Polska, Vogue Czechoslovakia, ELLE Serbia, 10Magazine and The Impression all visited Budapest during the BCEFW. Those familiar with the world of fashion could spot Nina Suess influencer and Patrick Domingo fashion and lifestyle photographer among the guests in the audience.

Not only on-site was there a great interest in BCEFW programs. Nearly 20 thousand people watched the live broadcasts of fashion shows in high quality on Facebook, and the most popular TikTok video has over 150 thousand views.

Budapest was again filled with fashion for a week, and among the diverse programs, everyone could find something that matched their interests. BCEFW wishes to be the meeting point for regional fashion in the future as well, and in line with this objective, continues to cherish and strengthen professional relations.
