14th BCEFW Showcasing More New Talents Than Ever

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) will organise one of the most outstanding fashion weeks in the region, the Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW), from August 26 to September 1. This year, a brand new category will be added to the repertoire; more than 30 young designers’ works will appear at the event, and a recycling campaign will also take place at BCEFW's central location, Millenáris.

The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) is organising the Budapest Central European Fashion Week for the fourteenth time, effectively connecting regional countries. The fashion event has become a Central European hub, presenting collections by the region’s important representatives for the first time in the season, and the next generation, the emerging talents get larger visibility here for the first time in the region.

In the SS25 season, the young generation will play a bigger role than ever: applications in the Young Talent and New Generation categories broke records from previous years, with more than 30 young designers showcasing or presenting their collections this year. From Friday to Sunday, acknowledged domestic brands and popular Slovakian, Slovenian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Polish and Bosnian-Herzegovinian designers will be on show.

The BCEFW concept and the selection of the participants were determined by the Advisory Board, a committee of internationally renowned experts. This year, the fashion week has expanded its themes with a new category: the Agency is placing special emphasis on sustainability for the SS25 season, reinforced by the Conscious by BCEFW section, created according to the criteria of the Conscious Fashion Initiative. The commitment to environmentally conscious operations is further strengthened by a three-way collaboration with MOHU MOL Waste Management Zrt. and Millenáris, as a result of which, a textile collection container will be placed in front of the Millenáris buildings, available from Friday to Sunday, which aims to raise awareness among event participants and the general public about the importance of recycling.

In the Fashion Hub, which fills up season after season, many exciting discussions, presentations, and workshops tailored to Gen Z welcome visitors. Admission is still free, but pre-registration is required to access certain programs. Throughout Fashion Week, from the 26th of August until the 1st of September, a variety of programs will await fashion enthusiasts at designated locations across the capital and county seats, which can be explored by the interested public using printed Fashion Map guides.

BCEFW’s main goal is to act as the number one platform of the region’s professional community and to turn Hungary into a key player in the international fashion industry’s professional community.
